Seesaw complete.

Today I completed the seesaw part of my model.
Here are some photo to show the outcome, the seesaw is being balanced by 2dollar coins in these images.  

Paint. - Project Three Update.

So I have had to alter my plan of action slightly in that i could not get use of the laser cutter as it was all booked out. So I have got myself some mdf board and have decide to make my model using this. So I drew all my piece up and cut it out using a jig-saw.

Currently I am in the process of painting all of the components for my model, I chose quite neutral colours for my seesaw and am applying these with spray paint.

Exhibition Idea Three.

For my last idea I wanted to think outside the box like our tutor's have repeatedly encouraged us to do.

 So I came up with the idea of using invisible ink, a Ultra Violet torch and a normal torch.
For this piece I would write something on paper, very neatly of course. This could possibly be a short explanation of the function if/else. I'd have it mounted somehow within my exhibition space.
In front of this I would place two torches, one containing a normal bulb and one a ultra violet bulb. These two torches will have to look fairly similar in appearance. The interaction with the user is that if they use the ultra violet torch to shine onto the page then the explanation will be visible, and if you use the other torch you will get no reaction except a bright patch on the page.

Exhibition Idea 2.

My second idea works around a circuit with two light bulbs and two batteries.

The difference to the finished project from this diagram is that it will have two of the pieces of wire will be left loose on the inside contacts of the light bulb. There will also be another length of loose wire which is where the if/else interaction comes in. If the user decide to join both the batteries together and both lights together then they will have an outcome of both of the lights being on. Where as if they connect only one light and battery then they will only have one light come on as a result.

Exhibition Idea 1.

 My first idea for my exhibition piece is based around the seesaw, I think that a seesaw is a good way to display the function of if/else.
As showed in the birds eye view on the left the ends of the seesaw with sit over pads made of conductive material. The seesaw will be set up with a circuit running to each and meaning that when that particular side makes contact with the conductive pad it will complete a circuit ( I am not sure what these will do yet though) But they will both cause different things to happen.

This is also an interactive design because the thing that will determine which end goes down and    

which circuit is going to be complete is the user.
There will be two weights and the user will get to choose which one goes on which end, also determining which circuit will be connected.

If/else

While thinking about what I am going to do for this project I wanted a way to clarify more clearly the concept of the function if/else in my mind. I thought that this would help me develop more ideas.
